There is an undercover play area and adventure playground with flying fox for the kids. Grown ups can relax around communal fire pits and picnic tables that overlook the beach.

🚙 Apollo Bay Holiday Park is set back a couple of blocks from the main street. It is 2 minutes from the Apollo Bay Visitor Centre.

🛌🏼  Accommodation – unpowered camping sites and caravan sites on cement slabs. There is a huge range of cabin accommodation from standard cabins to Queen, Executive, Superior and Spa Cabins.

🐶 Dogs are not allowed at Apollo Bay Holiday Park.

We have stayed here, and it is a compact little park just minutes away from the beach and shops. There is an excellent camp kitchen right alongside the pool and a small playground but for families, there are a few more options for kids at the Big 4. We enjoyed our stay here; the staff were friendly and it was nice and quiet. If you just want a comfortable spot to come back to after a day exploring the many nearby attractions, Apollo Bay Holiday Park is a good option.

🚙 Apollo Bay Recreation Reserve is 4 minutes from the Apollo Bay Visitor Centre between Apollo Bay and Marengo.

🛌🏼  Accommodation – Powered and unpowered sites set between the Barham River and town oval.

We haven’t stayed here but we did drop in for a look around because we like oval-style camping. It is a nice spot with plenty of grass, lots of room, trees and there are camping sites along the river. There are 35 powered sites and over 200 unpowered sites.

Location-wise, you are close to the beach, golf course, only a short walk to Marengo and the Fishing Co-op is only 500m away and they do nice fish and chips. Having the oval right there is fun for families and there are tennis courts there too.

There are mixed reviews about this campground with comments about dirty facilities, muddy grounds and poor customer service. The facilities are old, but they were clean when we came by and the ground was firm when we looked around in November. We dare say most grass sites in this part of the world would be soggy over winter.

On the positive side, it has a great location, it is dog friendly, good value and if you want a break from the normal caravan park atmosphere you get that here. It is certainly worth a look here in warmer months.

🛌🏼  Accommodation – unpowered camping area (with some great ocean views), big, powered sites, Seaview and Holiday Cabins.

🐶 Dogs are allowed on powered and unpowered camping sites.

One of the reasons we write these guides is so you don’t miss staying at a nice park like this – as we did. Marengo is only minutes from the hustle and bustle of busy Apollo Bay and you get to stay only a minute from the beautiful Marengo Reef Marine Reserve and beach.

There is a new adventure playground, camp kitchen, nice outdoor BBQ area and tidy laundry and amenities black. The park has a great position up on a headland looking over Mounts Bay and the reef.

It is a great spot with a friendly atmosphere, and we would aim to stay here next time we travel along the Great Ocean Road. It is a great option if you are travelling with a pet.

🚙 Skenes Creek Foreshore Holiday Park is 7 minutes from the Apollo Bay

🛌🏼  Accommodation – unpowered campsites and powered sites for caravans and motor homes. All sites are on a grass base.

🐶 Dogs are allowed at Skenes Creek Caravan Park on selected sites.

You are just a few minutes extra out of Apollo Bay but for the extra travel time you can stay at the closest caravan park to the beach around Apollo Bay. Only a low bush covered dune separates the park from the beach and there are several access points to the beach from the park.

This is a basic park set up that runs along the foreshore. The camp kitchen and amenities have had a recent facelift so look nice and tidy. There is also a laundry and some picnic tables, but otherwise that it is for park facilities.

This is a great spot if you want easy access to the water. The road that takes you to Stevensons Falls and Lake Elizabeth is right across the road from the park.
